My son was diagnosed severely autistic 25 years ago when he was 3 years old. His language was very limited and he was a handful to care for. He wasn't like the other children. The first thing we did was give him high quality neutriceuticals (plant based supplements). He responded immediately and his symptoms began to decrease.
The next thing we did was find an Osteopath that specialized in Cranial Sacral work (acupressure on the skull). We discovered that when he went through the birth canal his skull got squeezed and misshaped. He had subtle indentations around his skull that were effecting his speech, hyperactivity, potty training. and more. After his first appointment we went out for dinner to celebrate. At this point he could only count to two. He would repeat one, two, one, two, over and over. After dinner he looked up at me and said, "one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten!" My wife and cried at that moment because we knew he was on a healing path. The information was in his brain, but it was being blocked by the short circuits his skull was causing.
A couple months later my mother interviewed Annabel Stehli on NPR. Annabel was the person that brought AIT technology to the United States from Europe and started the Georgiana Institute for Auditory Integration Training. She was living in Europe with her 12 year old non-verbal daughter at the time that she discovered AIT. After 10 days of AIT, her daughter was speaking in full sentences. She ended up going to college at Yale University as a linguistics major. Annabel wrote a book titled "The Sound of a Miracle,' chronicling her daughter's healing journey.
My mother called me immediately after the interview was over and informed me about AIT. We found a local AIT practitioner and started immediately. Ten days later my son was speaking in full sentences. He immediately started dropping all of his autism traits. His language exploded, he calmed down, his sensitivities to sound disappeared, and he began to thrive. We had him tested the following year with an autism specialist, and he said my son was Asperger, not severely autistic as previously stated by an MD. The year after that we went to a different expert and they said my son isn't Asperger's, he is slightly ADD. The following year we tried a different expert that said my son was never autistic and anyone that told us that should be out of a job. We had a good chuckle because we knew what a miraculous journey had taken place. Each expert marked a chapter in his healing.
We home schooled our son, and at the age of 8 he tested with a perfect score for vocabulary at the local high school. He had a 13th grade vocabulary five years after AIT. He continues to thrive. He is 28 now and he has owned his own business since he was 22 years old.
